Shift

Shift in

This script shifts a layer to start at the start or end point of another layer. This is helpful if, for example, you have a background video (with variable length) and an outro. For the outro to start at the end of the background video you apply the shift-in script to the outro layer and pin it to the endPoint of the background video.

These are the options for the shift in script:

  • Shift target - name of the layer that is a shift layer.
  • Shifts to - where to shift this layer in-point (start).
  • Shift overlap - the overlap of this layer and the target layer in frames.

Shift out

This script shifts a layer to end at the start or end point of another layer. This is helpful if, for example, you have a background video (with variable length) and an intro. For the intro to end at the start of the background video you apply the shift-out script to the intro layer and pin it to the startPoint of the background video.

These are the options for the shift out script:

  • Shift target - name of the layer that is a shift layer.
  • Shifts to - where to shift this layer out-point (end).
  • Shift overlap - the overlap of this layer and the target layer in frames.
