Render triggers

Render triggers are integrations that allow you to automatically create a new render whenever a specific event occurs in another application.

What will be rendered?

When setting up an integration on a project level, a render trigger integration would render a project default template. When setting up an integration on a template level, a render trigger integration would render the selected template itself.

You can render additional templates at once by using the Extra templates configuration field.

Configuration

Each integration of this type offers unique configuration fields for the trigger, yet they all include the common render setup fields.

Render setup

The common fields available for configuration of rendering are:

  • Output module, Settings template and Post-encoding type - define what will be the output format for videos render using the integration.
  • Instant download and Instant download file name - define if the video should be available for instant download and what will be the name of the file in that case.
  • Webhook URL, Webhook passthrough, Call webhook on failed render and Call webhook on invalid render - define webhook notifications options for the render.
  • Thumbnail frequency seconds and Thumbnails at seconds - two mutely exclusive options to define if thumbnails should be created as well.
  • Skip integrations and Integration passthrough - define options for the video distribution integrations that will be executed after rendering.
  • Watermark URL and Watermark encoding parameters - define options for the watermark that will be applied to the video.
  • Captions URL, Captions style and Captions position - define options for the caption generation.
  • Upload project files - when enabled, modified project files will be collected, zipped, and uploaded together with a video.
  • Extra templates - defines additional templates from the same Plainly project that will be rendered together with the main integration template. This is useful when you want to create multiple videos from the same data, but with different templates. For example, you can create a videos in different orientations at once.
All render setup options are optional and you can leave them empty.
